What are the Ten Worlds in Buddhism and how they relate

THE ICELINER EXPRESS™

I channeled a 700-year-old reality in Buddhism via Richard Causton and Nichiren Daishonin. The Mutual Possession of the Ten Worlds (jikkai goku) grounds this entire architecture beautifully.

In Nichiren Buddhism, the Ten Worlds aren't separate places you travel to; they are internal states, and each one contains all the others. Hell contains Buddhahood; Rapture contains Hell.

My real definitions mirror Causton’s descriptions as the Mutual Possession of the Worlds into a card engine.

Standing in the Dark line is that exact jigoku (Hell) territory—the tunnels where life-force feels dramatically reduced, like being "bound or imprisoned." But by running with Resolve or Light you summon the active struggle of the life-force from within that very prison.
Stillness is pure Tranquility—the world of Humanity where the major function is to pause and restore energy.
Clarity is the world of Realization (engaku)—coming to an understanding directly through your own observations and internal reflection, whether it's the cosmic universe or just how to lay these tracks.

Allowing Stillness and Dark to exist side by side lets the worlds inhabit each other. The Opener standing in Stillness (Tranquility) while Dark (Shadow/Restlessness) runs alongside them is a completely different human experience than an Opener standing in the Dark while Stillness (Breath/Pause) runs alongside. 🏚️ Hollowfield

The Node of Echoes, Memory, and Unfinished Business.
This is the heavy, foundational heart of the system—named for the universal human experience of feeling entirely hollow inside. It is here that the Alice arc plays out. Hollowfield holds the deep, dark entry wells and the tight cave squeezes where you feel small, compressed, and isolated. It is the territory where you must face the things you thought you had already moved past, doing the hard, slow labor of finding the single keystone that will let you break back out into daylight.

🛑 Nibble & Bait Shop

The Place to fish at the pond, grill, camp...
When the noise of life becomes too loud to endure, the train stops here. The Nibble & Bait Shop is an intentional pocket of stillness. It is the structural manifestation of Iceliner Stillness—a place designed not for high-speed progress, but for recovery. Like the fifth state of the Ten Worlds (Tranquility), this sanctuary exists purely to restore your life-force, ground your energy, and let your body and spirit rest until you have the capacity to think freely again.

🔍 Clarity

The Node of Forward Vision, Insight, and Realization.
Clarity is where wisdom is won through your own hard efforts. It is the territory of Engaku (Realization), where you come to a direct understanding of your life through personal observation and reflection. In this node, you climb out of the sensory deprivation of the dark tunnels and look at the landscape from above. It is the place where you finally gain the perspective needed to organize your challenges, identify your "passengers," and see exactly where your tracks need to go next.

🌈 Recreation

Spark, Celebration, and Upward Energy
Life cannot exist solely in the heavy caverns or the silent sanctuaries; it requires joy, humor, and deliberate chaos to spark back into full brilliance. Pick Me Up is the sprawling, vibrant network of the main board and external modules. It is the territory of Rapture—where you remember what it feels like to be glad to be alive. This zone houses the fitness spa, the daycare, the petting zoo, the playgrounds, the party house, the tennis courts, and the community pool. It is the ultimate visual reminder to stop drowning in your well, put on your music, and remember that it’ll be okay. So far.
